spring break

aka..family adventure 2012
It all started a couple of weeks ago when Casey bought us a trailer.  (I still haven't remembered to get a picture of it..one day.)
We began our 4 day adventure meeting up with Grandpa, Grandma and Sydney for a cold night close to the cabin the trailer didn't make it all the way to the cabin.  Because we were rain/snowed out of the cabin we ventured to Price to check out the dinosaur museum.
They have a full size mammoth which was enormous but apparently not photo worthy as we you see I have pictures of the animal side only...
After the museum we met up with one of Grandpa's friend and met Sherman "the tank" tortoise.  Actually Lane had a lot of fun out the ordinary pets, pigeons, ducks too.  Casey was the most excited I think he wants to be Lane when he grows up.  At least, he wants to have property so he can have a tortoise.
Gen even got to take a short ride.
We decided to give up on the canyon because of the snow and rain.  Said good bye to Grandma and Grandma and turned left instead of right and set out without a destination.  Generally we are not a spontaneous family but we were packed up and not ready to come home, It was getting dark so we asked the gps where to go and she lead us right to a hotel with trailer hookups.  perfect.
After a much warmer night we decided to take our adventure to Goblin valley.
Roads that are long like this...
create the need to push your speed like this.  And we made it safe and sound!
We investigated every nook and cranny,
climbed and ran, smiled for a million pictures.  We really spent probably 4 hours there and the girls begged to stay longer.  Such a fun place.
One of the great things with a trailer, we all had a warm shower every night!  Here the girls are freshly showered, warm and clean after a dirty dusty day...love it.
Then we met up with the Brian and Rebecca clan and investigated San Rafael.  Casey and Brian spent alot of time like this...
This is the swinging bridge, we also saw Indian writings, and dinosaur tracks.  Climbed a few hills and threw a ton of rocks..
But mostly we spent some fantastic time together.  Who knew that is what we needed most!
Family adventure 2012...turns out no destination... works out great.  We might just try it again.
