afternoon rain

It has rained a couple of afternoons,
 Just short little storms,
Perfect for a little one with a little umbrella.

best

It started when we bought one of these.  A oscillating sprinkler.  One just like the Rasbands.
We are always trying to keep up with the Rasbands :)
Apparently, they are the best under a tramp.
We had one of those afternoons where you hair could fly anyway it wanted.
We played card games on the patio.
It was quiet and calm, so we could concentrate on skip-bo, and pictionary.
We ended the day with dinner in your swimsuit at the picnic table.  A favorite thing to do over here.
All activities done with a best friend near by.
These afternoons are the best summer has to offer.  Tomorrow we might have to do something a little more productive.  But today...it was the best.

sparklers

We had a great 4th full of food folks and fun!
I really wanted to try a sparkler picture and I was so excited you can see the word.
I have seen this done better on some of the photography blogs I read but I have to admit I am thrilled that we even kinda made it work.  Thanks to those who waved sparklers till I was content.
This little one was as fascinated with the camera and sparklers too, she played with me the longest. See I got a little better as the night went on, I like seeing who has the sparkler.  Thanks McKinzley.
More on the party to come,  it really was a great day!

oh say can you see

Bright and early we went to see the balloons, a tradition I love.
Who knew the Star Wars theme song makes Gentry march!
Did you know Darth Vader represents allegiance to your country?  Happy 4th July

i saw this story...

Of a little girl, who wanted to try something new,
With a gentle hand and some kind words of encouragement, she decided to give it a try.
It didn't go perfect but he was right there to catch her.
Some added advice and thoughts about how to keep her safe,  (good call on the helmet, mom)
She geared up to do it again.  "Are you ready? he asked "You can do this.  You know what it takes."
  And he let her go,
There were definite bumps in the road,  Still he was near by letting her learn what to do.
"It takes concentration and hard work too." he whispered "Try again little one... Ready, Set, Go!"
You got this,  It's all you!
Baby owns that ride!!
and that is her story.   the end

ice cream and water balloons

Casey was out of town for some of this week but he left us a surprise.  A box of ice cream sandwiches.  I think they were left over from Young Mens but was a great treat after a evening bike ride.
(Yeah that is a tear, can't even remember why now.)

And today Hayli was cleaning out the hall closet (she is trying to earn $$)  and found a bag a water balloons.  What a find!
Hay was the designated filler upper and Kate brought them to me and I tied them, lastly Gentry would put them in the pool for safe keeping.   Hayli said "working together, to make some fun we are!"  Had to smile!
Anything that makes a smile this big is worth it.
