this close

I found this picture among others taken on Fathers Day.  I love it  for different reasons, it isn't really pretty, but to me it has meaning.  This is my Dad's hand and Gen is trying with all her might and pointed toes. This close
...So many emotions this image brings.....

bridal veil falls

We hiked to Bridal Veil falls on Tuesday, OK there really isn't much of a hike but we strolled to the waterfall with friends. The weather was perfect . Gentry thought it was the ultimate rock wall (she scares me a little). I didn't get many pictures, had to be a mom and keep the one year old from drowning or falling off the rocks.

Gentry climbed and climbed, she couldn't make it back to the car for sheer exhaustion, thanks big sis. (Who thought mom was mean to turn and take pictures rather than "help"! ) There are so many hats that I wear, picture taker and loving mom don't really fit at the same time.... Thanks Hayli for filling in.

provo canyon

This is my most popular view of my girls. Why do I feel like I am constantly trying to keep up. Gen and I are forever trailing. It is obvious, I need to always wear my running shoes!
This is a rare shot, not looking at the camera but all facing the same direction! Too bad I didn't get the exposure right, I had to lighten a ton, distorting the quality. Could have been a keeper!

throwing rocks

We went for a walk/bike ride to the creek by the golf course today to throw some rocks. My kids are constantly asking to be entertained however proof today it doesn't take great graphics or even HiDef to entertain them. They loved the rocks! and MAN the water is cold.

fathers day

Look who came home for a few days! As you can see the girls don't let him get too far out of sight. We love to have our Dad home. We had a really great Fathers day. Low key and relaxing, Friday and Saturday Casey ran the Wasatch back relay, so he was tired. (They did improve their time from last year, they placed 3rd, you can't complain about that) Saturday night we went to the canyon to gather firewood, I can't believe how green everything is. I love the effects of a late spring. Sunday Nana, Papa, Paige and Dave helped us have a great bbq, fresh watermelon, corn on the cob. And of course s'mores! Presents and political talks, and all of a sudden it was bed time and I still had dishes to do. Fun night, we love the "Dads" in our lives.......
Happy Fathers Day!

snuggles

It's been a long week, not really anything specific to make me say this, but I'm tired, my kids are on edge. (I know something about the kids can sense the irritability of the mom yeah yeah....)
I took this picture earlier this week. I love that Gentry turns to Hayli for comfort some times. I hope they will be close.   It is almost time for the pacifier to go, I really don't like her trying to talk through it.  But lets be honest, if I thought this week was long wait till I take the pacifier away!   I think it is time to snuggle and call it a week. :)

backyard

We love our backyard and use it often. Tonight we had dinner with, a giggling Gentry, saying "WHEE".
A sassy, twirling Hayli Jane.

And Kate protesting the "purple" stuff and does she have to eat the "buccinni" (Que Hayli laughing) I swear Kate really believes I am trying to poison her! She can make dinner last ALL night!
Then Gen shattered my salad bowl on the concrete signaling dinner was over!
Never a dull moment......I promise. When does the Dad come home?
