highland sprinklers

We went to the sprinkler park on Tuesday with neighborhood friends, it was a first time for us. I am so excited that it is so close and lets admit free is a super bonus. We will definitely be seen there again! Here Kate is trying her Ariel pose. Gentry preferred hanging on the towels with treats and stealing flips from strangers, Hayli was keeping up with friends and loving every minute.

pretty

Gentry loves to color. She really prefers large canvas areas (ie. walls) but we try to stifle her creativity to paper and the like. This morning she wanted to color as I helped her gather supplies Gentry saw a paper she had already beautified. She looked at it surprised, with her classic "O" face and said "messy". I said, "not messy, pretty!" Gentry looked again, took a moment then smiled and said "pretty"
It made me think of so many times that I may think my life is "messy" in the beginning but really these are the incidents that make my life "pretty". For example lets look at the window. I know I washed it on Saturday. We did have a couple cousins over yesterday, but what makes a window look like this? Happy, playing kids! My window might look messy to you, but today I am trying to look at it as "pretty."

OK, sentiment is over, I'll go clean my window!

lilacs

We have lived here for almost 9 years and this year FINALLY, the lilacs in the back yard bloomed! I love the smell, they remind me of my Grandma. She had huge lilacs in her yard, or maybe she smelled of lilacs. Maybe, I was just little....Funny how just a smell can take you back to when you were 10 years old.

wheeler farm

We went to the farm today with neighborhood friends... 3 families, all with 3 girls, someone care to figure the odds? It seems like there would be a statistic somewhere.

Rode a horse or two, explored interesting places, saw some new things. We learned that Gentry really doesn't care to wear shoes, ever. Kate can climb anything, even in a dress, and Hayli loves having a friend who can sing every word of a Taylor Swift song at the top of her lungs.....just like Hayli!

While the girls played in the water on the grass side, Casey was hard at work building us this fantastic fire pit. Nana and Papa came over to help us break it in!

Papa stays far away from fire, and doesn't eat marshmallows.....he had ice cream on the sidelines.
Can you tell this month the theme is food? I don't know how to make pretty food that would warrant a picture, so I take pictures of the girls eating food.....kinda cheating I know.
