heehaw

We took the little joy school kids to the petting zoo/farm today.
Gentry has really loved school and these friends this year.
They had all the baby animals out to play.
a super fast and fun slide
 some classic farm toys
 perfect for the photo opp.
We planted sunflowers and then,
cooled off at home with our favorite thing to do lately.  Friends + animals + sprinklers = a good day!

wheelers

This weekend we got a quick chance to visit the Wimmers.  We love it at their house, we always have such a great time.  This time Mark suggested we bring the wheelers and check out some of the trails...
We packed a lunch and headed for the whole day!  I love that the kids are old enough to do this,
we climbed rocks, tried to run and hike in the sand,
rode the wheelers through rocks, sand and water. Even a couple of spots to make your heart pound, (I am kinda chicken the older I get)
It has been so long since I have seen a sky that was SO blue!
All and all---St.George and the Wimmers never disappoint!  Thanks again for a great weekend!
Oh, notice the space?   Yep, tooth #3, Kate pulled it herself this time wouldn't let anyone touch it.  I guess the leatherman last time was not a good memory?  Weird.

spring break

aka..family adventure 2012
It all started a couple of weeks ago when Casey bought us a trailer.  (I still haven't remembered to get a picture of it..one day.)
We began our 4 day adventure meeting up with Grandpa, Grandma and Sydney for a cold night close to the cabin the trailer didn't make it all the way to the cabin.  Because we were rain/snowed out of the cabin we ventured to Price to check out the dinosaur museum.
They have a full size mammoth which was enormous but apparently not photo worthy as we you see I have pictures of the animal side only...
After the museum we met up with one of Grandpa's friend and met Sherman "the tank" tortoise.  Actually Lane had a lot of fun out the ordinary pets, pigeons, ducks too.  Casey was the most excited I think he wants to be Lane when he grows up.  At least, he wants to have property so he can have a tortoise.
Gen even got to take a short ride.
We decided to give up on the canyon because of the snow and rain.  Said good bye to Grandma and Grandma and turned left instead of right and set out without a destination.  Generally we are not a spontaneous family but we were packed up and not ready to come home, It was getting dark so we asked the gps where to go and she lead us right to a hotel with trailer hookups.  perfect.
After a much warmer night we decided to take our adventure to Goblin valley.
Roads that are long like this...
create the need to push your speed like this.  And we made it safe and sound!
We investigated every nook and cranny,
climbed and ran, smiled for a million pictures.  We really spent probably 4 hours there and the girls begged to stay longer.  Such a fun place.
One of the great things with a trailer, we all had a warm shower every night!  Here the girls are freshly showered, warm and clean after a dirty dusty day...love it.
Then we met up with the Brian and Rebecca clan and investigated San Rafael.  Casey and Brian spent alot of time like this...
This is the swinging bridge, we also saw Indian writings, and dinosaur tracks.  Climbed a few hills and threw a ton of rocks..
But mostly we spent some fantastic time together.  Who knew that is what we needed most!
Family adventure 2012...turns out no destination... works out great.  We might just try it again.

lessons

Gentry learned today not to use Hayli's body spray without adult supervision,  sprayed herself right in the eye.  Sometimes we learn the hard way...
On a different note any given time of day you will find one of these trails at our house.  This is how Gen plays nowadays...  making trails of toys that go from room to room.  I remember the other girls doing this in smaller ways, placing stickers in a line on the paper etc.  But Gen does it big just like everything else she does, careful, don't trip!
Genny why do you put your toys in a line?   "Cause I like it."  ...Good enough reason for me.

history

...has never been my subject but I have to say 4th grade is all about Utah history & Hayli has learned a lot.  Tuesday she was able to be part of the Utah history program.  Hayli and her class were to dress as railroad workers. She was pretty cute I must say, despite the MANY costume conversations/meltdowns.  Fun fact Grandpa wore that hat on his mission in England.  I think she wore it of well.
Mostly we learned that Hayli Loves her friends. She will even dress silly and go to school after hours to see them.
