We waited till Sunday morning to carve pumpkins so Dad could help.

We tried one of those handy pattern books this time...

maybe a little easier, maybe a little harder...

Can't wait to see them in lights to see if you can really tell what they are.

Hayli mostly did hers by herself this time, til it got "complicated"  (Her favorite word right now.)  Left only a few for Casey and I to do, way to go Hay.

Yes, she is quite proud.  and Man we are glad to be done.

Today we are in charge of the treat for activity days.
Nothing like getting the lick the frosting spatula on a random not so special day.

pumpkins

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. 

hunted around the corn maze for the "hidden room".

found the bucket of magic beans to redeem for a treat.

looked at the smelly animals,

bounced and slide...

climbed and hung on the monkey bars

searched and finally found..

our perfect pumpkin.
On the ride home Gentry asked-- when we go to the pumpkin patch?
uh, we just went
No, Paige didn't come!
**Apparently it isn't a party unless Paige comes,  I'll mark it down.:)

fall break

A needed break for us..

Yesterday we went for a drive in the canyon to make sure we caught the amazing views. 

It was a fun afternoon, a bag of oreos, a coke for me and my best girls.

 Funny how just those short blips of time where everyone is getting along, listening to the radio admiring some of Gods most amazing work,

Seems to have the power to help you get through the rest of the day!

Have I mentioned we live in a amazing beautiful place?

We had the first Halloween party today.

Caught this picture of the gang, just before...

I told Kate to show me her best witch face and apparently she and Elle worked it out together.

Yeah, the barbie costume Kate HAD to have a couple of weeks ago? Today she hates it... Elle was a witch and inspired Kate to be "witchy" with her.  And Hayli, Um she is the "Queen Bee"... Really Tinkerbell and I are walking on eggshells, just hoping for a piece of candy.

falling leaves

Kate came home from Kindergarten with a leaf that had fallen.

Soon she was making plans for where it should go in our home,
by the time we made it home Kate had crushed it and she no longer thought it was pretty.

So we ended up with our own leaves from the backyard taped to my window,

 long term I am sure I'm not going to be happy with dried leaves and tape to clean off my window.

but it sure made Kate pleased, loving what she had created!

Gen went to the fire house today with her joy school friends.

We had a great time learning fire safety and trying to remember that firemen are safe not scary!

I collected these this morning from around my kitchen while I was doing morning dishes.
Apparently in the middle of the night I am not so good at putting things away.

This does not include the antibiotics that are in the fridge, the Vick's rub and humidifiers up stairs.
What I wont do to get my family to sleep!

Hayli won the coloring contest in her class this month!
Her prize was dinner at pizza pie cafe for two,  
She said hers was the most colorful and that is why it won.  I have admit I can't see how she could possibly add any more color!  Way to go Hayli!

slow down

Kate got hit with strep throat and a sinus infection this week,

Funny how your week can be so busy with all your "important" things to do.  And BOOM,

your stuck at home canceling everything right and left, realising that maybe...
it just wasn't that important anyway.
After a bath trying to control her fever Kate climbed into my bed and said..."It's just that my brain hurts and I just....I just need to breath."   Made me smile, how I know how that feels.
