you know what they say....

If you can't beat them, Join them.

We took that attitude this morning with the couple of inches of fresh snow this morning. Oh what a difference a day makes! At first the girls didn't want to, but the mean mom that I am I made them go telling them it was their last chance before summer. And Kate yelled "yes, SUMMER!" We might be ready for some warmer temps over here!! Needless to say once I got them out I had a hard time getting them to come in. Isn't that how is always goes... ( Anyone wish they were camping with Casey today? So glad I am not a scout!) Come home soon!

I think I might have some questions about "global warming" Are we part of the globe?? :)

play

Why do we spend all the money on gadgets they beg for when a broken kite tail entertains them for a just about a hour.  Got to love the sun shining!

infected

Is it wrong that two of the three woke up with their eye sealed shut with goop?
This one started it.
And now we are all following in line...
Don't mind me I'll just be mopping, washing, scrubbing, spraying things with bleach...
infected again.
(I was looking at these pictures again the other day and since today it snowed,it felt OK putting these up.  Thanks again Tracie!)

easter

The big day came...and we learned that Kate likes the Easter bunny but Santa is better. Oh well, we all have disappointments. As for the rest were concerned, we got a few new toys, ate a few treats, spent time doing new puzzles, everyone tried every body's scooter/roller skates. Good thing we have a long hallway of tile to learn on before we have to try the big outdoors! We had family over for dinner and I got my camera out before everyone came so I would remember pictures and then SO me, I didn't take one picture. Anyhow we had good food, a Easter lesson, and even found time to celebrate some birthdays.

Happy Easter.

the hunt

Saturday, it was baby Bryn's blessing. The girls love spending time with cousins. We have a fun time visiting and having the egg hunt. The weather was stormy so we had the egg hunt in the cultural hall. Bad lighting and not a lot of hiding places but girls who love how their dresses twirl hardly notice those things!

eggs

Friday afternoon we finally got around to coloring Easter Eggs. The girls love this tradition almost as much as I do, I was excited to try a new way, trying to make them tie dye. So we opened the box set out the eggs and cups, mixed up the colors THEN read the instructions. Yep I had ruined it. Apparently you should review the instructions before you start mixing! So very traditional eggs we have this year but I think the Gentry had the most fun and of course there wasn't enough eggs for the other two. I think they could do a dozen each which I think is OK when you are coloring them but after the fact trying to figure how to eat several dozen eggs, is too much work for me so we only did 1 dozen. Short and sweet.

egg hair

I follow a couple of hair blogs. Kate really likes to look at them with me anyhow....she saw this hair do and had to give it a try for her Pre-school Easter Party today.  It isn't as perfect as the one we saw on the blog but she was pretty happy with it.

spring break

Will you remember not going out of town when all your friends did?

Or will you remember bike rides and painting you room Banana cream. (How many coats does it take to cover fuchsia flowers with banana cream)

Will you remember yard work and shopping for carpet?

Or will you remember warmish days and breaking out the fire pit for the first time this season?

Will you remember Dad going to Arizona without us?

Or will you remember new t-shirts, baby lambs moving in, a Easter party at Nana's and a field trip to the Humanitarian Center with Grandma.

Will you remember giant marshmallows, and a slow week with your sisters? (Waiting clear till Friday before asking for friends, school and something to do.)

Me too, Spring break was just the break we needed.

coke

Yesterday I was trying to get Kate and Gentry to lay down and watch a show.  I admit it I was tired, I needed a break it really wasn't about them.  I also admit that I maybe got a little sharp as I told them to lay on the couch or go lay down in their room.  Gentry ran off yelling "I no nap"  and I plopped on the couch working the remote when the 2 year old brought me a coke from the pantry.  "Coke Mom?"  with a big smile.
.......I'm pathetic.
As you can see Gentry enjoys a good coke just like her Mom and we all made it through the dreaded afternoon hour all in one piece with no more sharpness from the Mom.  Thanks Gentry for knowing me all too well.    :)

conference

I love General Conference weekend!
I love that it is expected that I take a weekend, stay home, watch TV, and be with my family. And as always "they" did not disappoint! I learned, laughed and cried. Words of encouragement, and hope, with reminders to be better and make some changes...to keep priorities in line.
I have hopes that one day the girls will sit glued to the screen with me, but for now I'll take the few questions about what they did hear and freeze dance on Sunday night to run off some pent up energy!
