pants

The girls and I went to Walmart on Saturday to gather Memorial BBQ supplies.  While walking down the isle...
Kate:  "I want those pants."
Me :  coming to a screeching halt "WHAT?"
She promised she would wear them and I didn't care the cost  these are the first pair of pants ever Kate has voluntarily worn.
Here's to maybe a corner turned...

memorial day

We met together this weekend to send some love to Hayden and Carey.
Running to find Hayden.
 Found Him!
So glad that we can meet together with smiles even though we are missing the ones we love.
Maybe even share a kiss or two!
It was raining too hard when we saw Carey but rest assured he had lots of love shown by flowers galore!
Happy Memorial Day!

zoo

We went to the zoo today with Kate's preschool friends, the field trip had been postponed due to the rain lately. The girls had fun, the weather was perfect and it was good to talk with friends.

Missy even caught a photo of me with Genny on the train. We saw these horses close to the front all the girls had to take a turn.

Slides, trains and animals galore. They had made and are making a lot of improvement to the zoo. Adding even dinosaurs!! We had a good day.

codeine

Dear Mr. Codeine,
You are to never darken the doors of my home again.  You are not wanted, You are not invited....
That was not a fun visit.
Gentry

graduation

Monday was Kate's last day of preschool!  We have loved it at Miss Ginny's.  For 3 years Kate has run into her home just like it was her own.  Kate I'm sure will miss it as I am also sure Kindergarten wont feel so comfortable.

Kate really wanted to pose for these pictures...so Kate.
 Thanks Miss Ginny!!

sunday

Gentry and I skipped church yesterday and had a quiet and peaceful sunshine filled afternoon...
While moving around furniture last week we decided to moveout a arm chair that has been in our bedroom, it has ended up on the patio in the backyard SO, ElleMay Clampit, but I have to admit it is nice to have a soft place to sit, my over sized chair next to my miniature sized picnic table.  :)

Then the crew came home and we had a less than quiet evening doing tricks with the Dad.

Why is it most days I am ready to go, tired of always staying home, but skipping class has always brought a smile to my face even as a teenager I loved not being where I was supposed to be.  I love a slow Sunday!

adenoids

Today Gentry had her adenoids taken out and they attempted to put in new tubes. However her eardrums have too much damage, so they patched the damaged parts and... no tubes today. They are going to do some hearing tests and see how the patches heal then re-evaluate...hmmm. The doctor also decided her tonsils looked healthy so he left them alone which will be a faster recovery. She seems happy and if you ask her about her ears she will cover them with both hands and tell you "my ears feeling better, no doctor!"

Fortunately, we have great family and friends who helped make this day the best it could be including dinner brought in, babysitting, and pudding packs! Not to mention the text and calls checking on her. Love a chocolate face!

caught

The #1 rule of Mom's new white bed is nobody gets on it.  I even bought them beanbag chairs so they could watch the TV without getting on my bed.  Look at the look of total guilt and fear as she is caught???
Yeah, I might need a new tactic.
What is it they say?...
While the cat is away the mice...
Will disobey and be totally content and happy with it!!

artist

She must create something everyday...
So I grabbed the camera to remember this phase and as I started to walk away she said "Good, can you leave now?"  Perhaps not the phase I was trying to remember...  A Little Sassy going on over here!

"Why?" Is all I have to say...

sprinklers

What a better way to end a afternoon of yard work! Kate was dying to get into her swimsuit and pull out the swimming pool.   I kept telling her that even though she felt hot if she got all the way wet she would be too cold. Finally at the end of the work Casey turned the sprinklers on the make sure they made it through the winter and I had no more fight in me.
This lasted for about 10 minutes...
...till Gentry came shivering looking for a jacket.  Made me smile and get excited for those lazy summer nights.

We ended the night with warm baths for everyone, and smiles all around.  So glad to have the Dad home!
